New York City: American outdoor brands will no longer be allowed to sell in NYC

NEW YORK CITY — American outdoor brand American Outdoor Brands Inc. will be allowed in New York, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced today.

The decision by the city is the latest in a string of moves by the Trump administration to restrict what outdoor brands can sell in the United States.

The city announced earlier this month that the brands would no longer have the same protections as other manufacturers.

The companies have been in the U.S. for nearly a century.

De Blasio said the new policy will protect consumers from being exposed to harmful chemicals that can be harmful to their health.

“The City of New York has long had an interest in protecting our citizens from potentially unsafe products and has always made it a priority to make sure those products are not sold in New Yorkers neighborhoods,” he said in a statement.

At the same time, he said the city will continue to work with manufacturers and retailers to ensure they can continue to sell their products in the city.

“The city’s decision today is another step toward the protection of New Yorkers’ health and the protection from harm of the brands that make up our industry,” de Blasio said.

American Outdoor Brands, which is based in San Francisco, has been selling products in New Jersey, Connecticut and New York state since 1999.
